Manufactured by Inspira Technologies LLC, the Astro Tab A10 is a 10.1” tablet running Android Lollipop 5.1.1 and offers excellent performance for its price.
The A10 features an Octa-core processor with 1GB of ram, which is more than plenty for casual browsing, reading, and a lot of the popular games on the play store. You should face no performance issues or slowness in general if you are a casual to intermediate user of tablets.
The battery life on average is about 5 hours of extensive use. Albeit this being a bit low, it is expected due to the nature of the Octa-core processor, and the price range of the tablet. However, It will last you throughout the day with intermittent use just fine.
With a resolution of 1280×800, the tablet offers a vivid IPS screen that is capable of showing up to 720p of clarity, and despite of how inexpensive it is, this screen features great vibrant colors, with an excellent viewing angle. The screen is also very bright and allows decent viewing in outdoors environments. Although not as fancy as more higher-end tablets like the iPad, the A10’s screen is still very impressive for its price.
Another great thing about this tablet is that it features a full-sized USB port, unlike some of its competitors that use a micro-USB port and need an adapter to use it with peripherals. You can plug in a USB storage device, a gaming controller, anything you have in mind really, in it, without the need to carry an adapter with you. There is also an additional micro-USB port that you can plug anything in it, or actually charge the tablet from it!, although it’s a bit slower than the DC port that’s provided to charge the tablet using the adapter from.
The tablet also features a mini HDMI port that allows you to connect it to any HDMI screen or TV, to directly play media from the device without the need for a casting device.
Storage-wise, this tablet includes 16GB of internal storage, same as few of its competitors. It also has a microSD slot that supports up to 32GB, in case you need any additional storage.
The tablet has good sound, and the speaker seems to be well made, and is generally fine to listen to music or watch movies on. It also features a 3.5mm headphone jack in case you decide to listen in private.
Finally, the A10 also features both front and back cameras. At 2MP, the back camera is of average quality, although no one would really use the back camera for anything as everyone carries a phone nowadays. The front camera is, however, of low quality, as it is only 0.3MP, but it would do just fine for video calls. Just don’t expect anything great from this device’s cameras.
For sub-$100 tablets, the Astro Tab A10 really competes well in the market. With amazing performance, a vivid and vibrant screen, and Android Lollipop, you will be having a fantastic experience using this tablet. It truly feels well-made and is special-looking.
